Included with this file is a PowerPoint presentation over the battle between Andrew Jackson and the Bank of the United States. The struggle between the bank president Nicholas Biddle, Henry Clay, and John Webster as they try and defeat Jackson's bid for the presidency by using the Bank as a weapon.

It covers Martin Van Buren who takes over after Jackson's 2nd term and the depression that the United States slips into along with the Panic of 1837. Next it covers the election of 1840 "Tippecanoe and Tyler Too." I've added an extra powerpoint that I show the students about Tecumseh's curse which is explained in the powerpoint as well and always interests the kids.

There is also a quiz I give the students the next day to check comprehension. Plus an additional two day lesson with step by step instructions and 12 pages of resources to teach about Andrew Jackson.

You can use all of this information or just adapt it and supplement your own materials.
